Is Hudson 29 New Albany a fancy restaurant?

Hudson 29 in New Albany is an upscale, intimate space with options for open or leather booth and banquette seating under warm, low lighting. The vibe is cozy, friendly and relaxed with classic American interior design shown through the warm wood furnishings and artwork celebrating its namesake – the Hudson River Valley of New York and Route 29 through Napa Valley, California. It’s a welcoming environment whether the occasion is casual, business or celebratory.

What’s Hudson 29 famous for?

Hudson 29 is named for the storied Hudson River Valley, home of the Culinary Institute of America, and Route 29 which winds through Napa Valley. The menu reflects a collection of great flavors and influences from both regions – an expansion and redefinition of American Cuisine, using simple preparations that allow the flavors of the expertly sourced ingredients to shine through.

Since its opening, the foundational menu remains a hearty collection of starters, prime steaks, and knife & fork sandwiches. Favorite dishes include the Wood-Grilled Salmon served with couscous, raisins, almonds, cucumber, radish and citrus vinaigrette, the Shanghai Sea Bass with sesame sticky rice, wild mushrooms, bok choy, and a ginger garlic broth. The French Dip sandwich is truly knife & fork, stacked high with tender prime rib on a French roll with horseradish and au jus. A Thai Steak Salad with, mango, peanuts, lo mein, and a sesame vinaigrette is refreshing, the selection of sushi rolls is perfect for a meal or sharing, and dessert is a must with the Texas Sheet Cake topped with a delicious scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

On the beverage side, the focus is on wine, with an artfully composed list of 100 bottles. Cocktails crafted with house made mixers and fresh squeezed juices, and an ever-changing list of craft beers round out the selection.
